Guys I'm having issues with my Autostart alarm. If I let the auto-lock engage I can't seem to unlock or lock from the remote. 2nd time it happened. It does eventually register. I'm planning on taking back to the shop but am wondering if I should just exchange the alarm for a different model. These are the same guys that make the viper alarms. Anyone else experience similar issues?

Go with a DEI brand system like Viper, Python, etc. I personally would stay away from 2 way systems because the remotes ALWAYS break and they are expensive to replace. I install these systems and while the newer systems are nice and all, I love my Viper 550 esp. OLD SCHOOL!! The replacement transmitters are like 10 or 20 bucks versus 150. If you insist on a 2 way system, look into the newer Viper systems that allow you to use your smart phone as your remote....very cool stuff. Also, disable the auto lock feature. It's not worth the unavoidable locking of your keys in the car. Always happens at least once. Wish I was nearby to help troubleshoot the current system you have or install the new one. :frown:

Hey Syndicate, the sensor for the rear glass hatch (engine bay access) is always indicating that it is open even when it's shut...could this be causing the malfunction with the alarm?

Will tell the shop to do that in the am. Car's at the shop and the shop is closed now. Thanks for your help. If the light stays on then what?

If the light stays on, the wire going from the switch is either grounding out by touching metal on its way to the gauge cluster or its the alarm brain itself is sending a ground signal down the wire. The alarm hatch trigger/ door trigger/ hood trigger wires are supposed to be read only. As in, they send a signal to the brain of the alarm when they "see" voltage or continuity to ground down the respective wire. So they should not be outputting any voltage or ground signal to the wire they are tapped in to. Most of the alarm installs I have had to fix have almost always been a rats nest under the dash. This causes all kinds of problems.

FWIW.. you should really just walk to the driver's side of the engine bay and unplug the switch. It should take you all of 5 seconds. This will eliminate the switch itself. You shouldn't pay someone to do this for you. I can try to walk you through this problem. Do this tomorrow while someone is watching the dash.

I will try to check Prime for updates as frequently as I can.
Good luck!!!

Hey Syndicate, where is the switch for that sensor. Pic 1 or Pic 2 below? The switch in pic 2 is for the lock and can't see another one there

The switch Im talking about is in pic 2. It has a yell/red wire coming out of it (I think). There is a black rubber head on the top of the switch. You should be able to push it down. Hold it down to test operation.
I would go out to my NSX and take photos for you, but I am working in California right now. Also, I work from 6 pm to 6 am so I am about to go to sleep.

Just killed the whole alarm dude. Taking it back to the jerks that installed the alarm in the first place.
As far as the sensor goes I had to get back to to the office for a meeting so didn't find the right plug/switch. Gonna try again tomorrow or once I get the car back. The one I did unplug turned off the latch release lever by the driver side door.
