so im lookin at an issue for my dad. the driver side air dam (this is for the intake right?) has broken. Me mother did some damage to it while trying to wash the car and subsequently broke part of it while trying to shove the mesh back in. so the broken part is this black ring that is on the inside of the dam. i beleive its to hold the mesh in. Does anyone know the part i'm talking about, i could get a picture of it if need be. So basically im asking if anyone knows where i could order a replacement part and if its an easy replacement. Would putting in those carbon fiber side air dams replace this part? i might have nsx schematics on another computer so ill look at those when i can get to them to find the part number probably. But any info on the install would help
Thanks
Zack

Are you talking about the side vent that is on the rear quarter panel?

Did you have OEM mesh vents or did a previous owner make one out of metal mesh from Home Depot?

That mesh and black housing is not cheap. $320 retail each side.

Removing the side vents is a PITA. Do a search for side vent removal on Prime. If you have small hands and forearms than it is much easier. Basically it requires you to remove your plastic wheel well cover. Then you have to remove a star type nut either with your fingers or with a tool that you modified.

NSXclear is right about how hard it is to remove these vents. Remove the rear tire and take off the fender liner. If you can, get a 9 year-old to reach up in the rear quarter panel to loosen the star nuts.

As mentioned above, there is no mesh on the early OEM parts, just a plastic grill.
