Question 1: When joining the Hi-flo cats to the exhaust, is there a gasket that I am supposed to use? I know there is a tapered gasket from the header to the cats, but when separating my stock exhaust from the cats, I didnt notice a gasket of any kind.
Would it be ok if I used some Hi-Temp Permatex gasket maker at those connections? I'm just concerned about exhaust leaks.

Question 2: What is the proper torque for connecting the exhaust system together? Is it just "snug" to allow for some expansion due to the heat?

Thanks in advance!

Page 9-4 of the shop manual has all the torque settings and shows all the gaskets
If you don't have a shop manual you can download a free one from the Wiki.
Best not to guess on how snug a bolt should be.
Use the manual.

You need aftermarket gaskets for aftermarket cats since the stock cats use a crush ring.

You can also use the Permatex copper RTV.
