isk!!! After a long sleep in it's cozy bed. I take my NSX off the block and join the fellas for a little cure for cabin feaver. What do I get? some ash ho try's to pry into my car through the lock. Peeling my aluminum skin back as if it were a banana. I should have kept my happy ash at home. But nooo gotta go out with the fellas for a season kickoff.
Now I gotta find someone that can actually fix the car.
Thanks for letting me vent.

That's exactly how I am looking at it.
At least now. :^)

Son of a bitches. Sorry to see this - what's the world coming too?

Seems the only time these are safe is at home or 100mph+

btw - insurance must be made to get you a new door. You will have to fight but it is worth it. There is also the option of getting a perfect "used" door. Bottom line - no bondo - no need to know how to work with AL.

My favorite body shop in town is Dave Godats in Manchester. Not at all the cheapest but they do it right IMO. They do a lot of German iron for the Porsche / BMW types.
Anyone else have a St. Louis NSX favorite?

I would not use Plaza if I where you as I have heard and seen bad things.

Good luck / really really really sorry. Get her fixed quick for Gateway and put it behind you.

OH - and if you do have to use or decide to "fix" it / use bondo - you may want to check out Mark J / Dali Racing car. He removed and filled the key holes and painted over it so it is smooth.

Very cool looking IMO but you have to always have the remote to get in. At least you wont have to worry about this happening again.

Damn I am pissed for you right now!

Sorry to hear that bro, my heart goes out to you and the NSX!!

You may need to fight for a new part. Your insurance will want to repair the damage. Insist on new parts and settle for PERFECT used if neeed be.

Once again, I am very sorry this happened. Why could they nit smash a window out? It would sooo much easier to fix.

All people with parts are suspects.

Your paint is so deep I thought that was a model of mt. St. Helens. Hopefully the car will look like new when it is fixed.

Exactly, Then even if they did start it somehow. They couldn't move it. The car was sandwiched between 2 friends. I think they were looking for valuables. Which there wasn't any, hell I spent all of my $$$ on the car? Well I go to hang out with some fellow NSXer's today for auto viewing and lunch, so I am in a better mood. I covered the damage with tape so I don't have to look at it. I go to the adjuster on Monday.
I don't think it will be a problem with them.
Well thanks for the encouragement and good will.

i consider myself lucky ....same thing happened to me ,but they took a screwdriver to the key hole and tried to pry out the lock.no damage to the door itself only the lock cylinder.....new part was less then $100 bucks which i installed myself. My conclusion was they were tryin to find the radar detector as i left my window clip in tact on the windshield ... now i remove my radar detector b4 i get to my destination and i have alittle sign that i leave up just saying there are no valuables inside the vehicle. one more thing ...dont forget to give the glass a quick wipe where the suction cups were as it is a tell tale sign you have one.... you have to think like a thief in order to combat one IMO.

Was the lock-mechanism damaged? (ie. were u still able to open the door with the key?)

Didn't even try. I don't want to do damage to any of the keys. They definately did damage to the lock. The more I look at other cars the more I like the suggestion of gettin rid of the locking mechanism on that side.
Well I will see in a few hours after I talk to the adjuster.
