My buddy who recently got a 2010 997 carbio S called me up and wanted to check out the twisty ride on highway 25. So we went and it was a blast. We did pull over to take some pictures and I notice my 91 NSX is actually does not look like a 20 years old when comparing to 997. Yes, it is true that the 997 is a 2010 model comes with all the latest and greatest gadgets such as full leather, PDK transmission, paddle shifter, 19 inches tires, big massive brake and the list goes on. The guy was using the paddle shifter most of the time and the system did a wonderful job to rev match the rpm every time he down shift. Also, the 380 hp is really tearing down the straight line during the run. On the contrary, my NSX does not have a button where I can tune my suspension setting nor the automation of rev match the rpm from my down shift. I had to pay 100% attention to all my driving "manually" and yet the car responses gracefully to my commands. My NSX actually was pulling quite ahead most of the time during the run. Maybe, this was his first time on highway 25 and he was shying from the road and the car is still on the breaking -in mode .

I am proud to be an NSX owner. It is definitely a very special automobile and its design is surely ahead of its time.

NSX>>>997 anyday.

Simpler, lighter, handbuilt by a company who was out to prove a point at the time, plus not having electronic nannies to help you shift. No comparison. :)

Now, Imagine if you had your NSX lowered, with 02+ wheels and spacers .. your car would look even better!

Thanks for sharing a great story of the NSX. It gives me the itch to take my out this Spring:biggrin: I still dig your NSX any day:cool:

Great story and I agree the guys in Japan sure know how to make a car, and the fact that it still looks like any other newer cars is so funny,
when I tell people what year my NSX is they are no-way,, really? it cant be that old!! LOL

Funny. I met a cute young girl today at the gas station. She liked my car so much, she wanted to sit in my car and take pictures. I would have liked her to sit on my lap if the car wasn't so dam small.

It's funny - I'm driving what I believe is one of the finest automobiles ever, and I see the tape deck, and the original non-functional cell phone in the arm rest, and I smile  and it it just adds to the great experience  19 years old and timeless -- wouldn't trade it for the world  Jay

First thing I did was RIP out all the cell phone related CRAP. why have a phone in the car and that just beeps,, the little center console has alot of room once you removed the phone and replace the phone buttons with the original coin tray, instead of a Dunkin Donuts cup with coins filled to the brim. you can save 30 +LBS if all that was removed

I got rid of my phone right after getting the car, but ....
I distinctly remember reading a thread here about restoring functionality to the phone, if that's what you want.
