hi everyone, I have stock 04 nsx with stock wheels right now and think the fender-wheel gap is too big, I like to lower the car a bit, not too much though. Because you all know the road in Toronto is bad. (especially downtown)
I searched the web and found some options such as tein, tanabe, and eibach. I do not track my car currently and just want the same good handling quality as OEM or a bit better. And I do not want to have a super stiff ride or scratching the bottom of my car all the time.

What lowering spring should I get? and do I need to do alignment or anything after putting in the springs?

Thanks a lot everyone.

Bilsteins on the lower perch should drop you about 7/8" and you can use the OEM springs, this sounds like what you want.

If you want to go lower you can either get new springs and use your old shocks (Although if you have high miles, I would consider replacing them since you are in there anyway) , or get a custom groove macined into the Bilstein body at whatever height your desire and use the OEM springs.

Of course there are other shocks out there but I think many people that don't track are happy with their Bilsteins, myself included.

Yes you will need an alignment when done.

What about oem shocks and lowering springs? which springs most suitable for my situation? Thanks.

Kw v3. Yes, you need to align.

Careful when setting minimum as rear gets slammed due to weight of engine. Guess how I know. For more info PM.

kw v3

for oem ride and height adjust ability this is the best option, esp for toronto roads.

ur ride needs to be lowered :)

I would suggest the Bc racing coilovers with the swift springs as an alternative to just lowering springs. It's not that much more and you can adjust whenever you want. They might be a little rough though on the Toronto roads though, but so are lowering springs.

Kw3 will be better, but you are 2.5x the cost.

Yes you could lower on OEM shocks, I would think you would want to look at the Tein S springs (believe around 7/8" lower) or Eibach (1.25" lowering) or Dali (1.25"...however I would read about Dali business practices first and then decide, this is what I have on Bilsteins but it was before a lot of issues came up with the vendor)

I just had the Bilsteins installed on the lower perch with OEM springs. I love the look and don't have to worry about getting up my driveway or speed bumps. It's lowered just enough to my satisfaction and the handling is CRISP! It's hot a little harder ride but still manageable for long trips.

I had the bilsteins on my last 05 and have installed them on my current 05. I personally love them.

Best suggestions have been given. Bilsteins on lower perch is the most cost effective and maintains the oem ride quality. If you dont ever plan to track it, this is the one. My future NSX will never see a track and this is what I will get.

If you think you might be on the track ever in the future, KWV3s without a doubt. I run them on my current track toy, a S200CR and they are incredible.

I put Tein S-Tech springs on OEM dampers. Looks good works fine

Thanks for all the input guys, this forum is really helpful!
I am going to get koni and tanabe from Ryan tomorrow, just need some spacers for the front wheels now.
I got 25mm for the back, thinking about either going 15mm or 25mm in the front. I think the 25mm would look better:rolleyes: plus with 15mm I have to do all the extended studs work...

I checked JRP/Option JDM, they do not have 25mm H&R spacers.
Anyone local (toronto/canada) has a pair of 25mm spacer for sale for the front? 5x114.3 70.1:smile:

Hey bud just give SpeedStar a call and they'll sort you out. They already said they can get it for you.

PM Red.

He has an 02+ and bought lowering springs with the same spring rate as stock so they would match up with his stock shocks. This is key to maintain handling balance as intended by the engineers.
