To answer a few questions...
It is very lightweight, the clear sections are made of lexan, and it retains the stock rubber gasket that goes around the stock engine cover.
It costed me about $1000 USD shipped.

By far the best looking one I have seen yet.
Pretty sweet. 
just put on the science of speed engine cover. its carbon fibre mesh and its simply unreal! its the one from cantrell. cost $875 and simply worth every penny!
no extra noise whatsoever. the only thing was that the fit and finish wasnt perfect but oh-well i feel the cover is still hot!

Any concern with sunlight wearing out engine parts (belts hoses etc) faster through the clear engine cover.
I have my X under a carport and I work at home, so it's not like it would bake in a parking lot all day everyday, but there has to be downside?
Any thoughts?

Ambient temperatures in the engine bay create enough heat to wear the parts the only extra thing you're adding is UV rays, you may fade some stuff but no extra 'damage' that I can think of.
But still, I can't believe you guys would pay that much for cover though..
