for some reason the wheels in pic s in the post above mine have a less aggressive offset (more tucked-in) than the ones on SOS site (pic provided) which seem to be sticking out slightly beyond fenders. anyone else care to comment? i did not see too many offset choices for the nsx.

Dunno of your size-requirements, but this seems like a righteous dealio'...

Yokohama Advan AVS Model 5 (gun-metal) 17x8/17x9 in NorCal' for $1200/firm

I'm tempted to just get them as NSX'related garage-art! :D

Also, due to the design/shape of the Model 5's, they tend to appear noticeably larger than their actual size!

The particular wheels listed above for-sale present a solid value as the non-staggered diameter size is attractive for other import sports-cars/coupes/sedans, therefore respectable resale value down-the-road for the years to come. . .

I am going to go with 18x8 (high 30's offset) in the front, 19x10 (low 40's offset) in the rear. Not sure of tire sizes just yet. I think it will be 285/35/19 in the rear, front I have no clue, maybe 235/40/18...still learning. trying to figure out the wheel color first :)~

As much as I like the wheel, it just screams wannabe Ferrari. Each to their own but I would choose a different rim

BTW, if you do go with them, I'd vote a light gunmetal finish, like the OEM washi grey

realness...

What-if the said rim-style (Yokohama's Advan 5 lineage) pre-dates the Ferrari F430 split-5 spoke by over 5-6 years (keepin' in mind the F430 didn't appear itself until '05!)?

Those who know, would recognize & respect. Those who pose, would think as to what you alluded to... not that you're a poseur (honest to goodness truth!); I'm referring to others who aren't aware of the actualities/realities of the split-5 bi-spoke design origin. . .

Time-line, for those who actually care [split-5 bi-spoke design]:
- Advan VS-5
- Advan Model 5
- HRE 547-line (and others popped-up around this time)
- Ferrari F430
- Mercedes Benz AMG
- C6 Corvette Z06
- Advan Model T5

I vote black or gunmetal, or silver. I can't picture bronze looking good on a yellow car - I always picture bronze as being a color for a black car.

I'm not sure it it will fit, but if you can stick a 19x10 +35 in the back, I think it would be sick! I've been checking out S14's lately purely because of their super aggressive low offset rims.

The M-parallel & AC Schnitzer Type III seem to be more of a mono-block appearance & star-shaped pattern, reminding me of the Blitz Type 03 which seemingly was inspired from the Ferrari F50 wheels.

The SSR GT1 totally escaped my memory (nice mention, SGMongoose...

), and I'm not even aware of when their initial release was... () I surely don't see them being older than that Advan VS-5??!

I guess, I should've been more specific re: split-5 spoke style wheels, as the Advan VS-5/Model-5/T5 all seem to be more-or-less identical to the Ferrari F430 & C6 Z06 OEM/stock-wheels, whereas other split-5 spoke wheels (M-Parallel, AC Schnitzer TypeIII, Blitz Type 03, MB AMG, etc') all vary considerably from the aforementioned style. . .

Anywayz... you've reinforced my point even further, split-5 spoke style wheels have been around long before the Ferrari F430 OEM/stock wheels. . .

If it's my RIO Yellow NSX, I would go with the gunmetal, which is what I voted for.

Every tire size you mentioned will not fit without MAJOR rubbing problems on a stock bodied NSX.

285/35/19 is too tall, and too wide (mostly too tall)
235/40/18 is WAY too wide and too tall.

Use these sizes and these sizes only on a stock bodied NSX. Trust me.
Front: 215/35/18
Rear: 275/30/19

Sharp contrasts always works. Bright car = dark wheels.

I say gunmetal.

I voted Silver....

i ended up with gold advans rs on my yellow car, its ok for me but everyone else thinks they ugly.... hahhahah

I have had 4 sets of wheels on my 2004 Rio and I am happiest with the bright silver offered on the Advan RS. I started with regular silver on Work VS XX, full polished on HRE 545Rs, Mercury Silver (bright color shifting silver) and I have settled for RS in silver. The silver on the RS has a blue / gray hue that turns into a bright silver in direct sunlight. It almost looks like they were painted with a black basecoat for this effect. Here is a link to my gallery which shows all of the wheels except my VS XX wheels I used to own.

I think the shine silver on the Advan Model T5, the bright silver on the RS or maybe the gold on the RS would look the best. The afforementioned choices would compliment the color. Bronze is nice but I think it's too dull for the color. Black is nice but it's too hard to see the details in the wheels because it is so dark. Just my .02

BTW I thought you were trying to sell your car. Wasn't your car on auto trader
recently ?

I agree.

Gunmetal all the way. I know you wanted gunmetal, why even asking:biggrin:.
235 up front
front 215/35/18
rear 295/30/19

I put it up on autotrader when that Imola '05 came up for sale a few months back, the one with 60 miles on it... I like rio more, but i was going nuts for that ultra low mileage car. needless to say, the Imola sold before i could get it, and honestly, I am glad. I prefer Rio 10 times more than I do Imola...

I think I will get the gunmetal T5s in march...will wait to see how i like them, and may powercoat them later on...black satin
