My parking brake by itslef isn't strong enough applied fully to hold the car still on a moderately steep incline. What's the procedure to adjust it?

I saw the adjustment bolt under the center console when I replaced the stock stereo. I was thinking of jacking the rear end up and tightening that with the brake off just until it started to grab the free spinning wheels. Then back it off just a bit. Would that be the right way to do it?

I don't think the car needs new pads again this soon. These don't have a lot of mileage on them. I checked the FAQ and couldn't find anything on this. Thanks.

Mine was also a bit loose, all I did was give that tensioner screw in the center console a few turns and it fixed the problem.

Here's the procedure from the manual - the cable adjuster is to set the final tension

Step 1 - remove the console to access the cable adjuster, then

.
