I am going to tear out my stock speakers. Does anyone know if the output from the deck is high level or low level. Since the amps are built into the speakers I would assume it is a low level output. If its low level I should be able to just put a set of rca's on it. Anyone know for sure?

low level. RCA will work fine. I attached RCA to mine and it drives 2 outboard amps, one for the sub and another for the door speakers.

Where did you connect the RCA wires to? the door speaker wires from the oem radio or?????

Thanks,

The speaker wires from the back of the radio are actually low level outputs to the amplifiers in the speakers themselves. I removed the radio and there is a plug in the back. Go to the FAQ and there is a listing of the wire color code. I then soldered RCAs to the wires and then connected interconnect cables. Originally, I was planning to put RCA jacks directly on the back of the radio but after taking it apart, it just wasn't worth the effort. I have no alternator noise or EMI.
