Wow now this is an NSX! Not like that lowrider NSX! Any comments?

I'd like to know if he had his tail lights, side markers, and turnsignals spray tinted? Or custom made lenses?

Another thing I noticed is the carbon fiber (looks like CF anyways) B-pillar's.

That is an awesome looking NSX. I think that carbon fiber is an air intake into the engine compartment.Pretty wild! might be something else i can burn my money on

Hey Paul M,

If you look at the side pic on the rear hatch that is a intake scoop. But I'm talking about the pieces on the sides between the hatch and door windows. The B-pillar, I was wondering if those were carbon fiber.

I've seen similar hatch with a GT style intake scoop at www.kingmotorsports.com. They are expensive, I think it was around 3600 or 3800 for the hatch and scoop.

That B-pillar is made of CF. And the rear hatch is by Mugen ($4k). He has the full Gruppe M CF body kit painted to match the car. Car looks very sweet unlike the slammed blk NSX.

pictures to be posted soon.....

BTW, all of his lamps were spray tinted. Did not see the "H" mark on his rear lamp.

I really like how he painted some of the body kit and left some carbon fiber exposed. Same with the hood too.

I may have to get a CF hood and those CF pillars. Anyone know where I can get the pillars?

Purevil,

If you are serious about getting the CF B-pillars, private me. I'm looking into getting mine also. But I was told that quality is not that good on these pillars (does not align well).

I don't know who made the panels for his drag car, but they are all custom made carbon fiber. I'll bet the same people that made his car made him the B-pillars and scoop. Probably just had some extra laying around

Sure it is...Mugen has 2 types: one with lexan and other in plastic composite. I've checked the rear hatch myself and it sure is Mugen. The CF duct might have be fabricated for the show.

Mugen has a prototype system like that, but King, the only Mugen distributor in the U.S., swears it is not the Mugen system.

The new Mugen system is both lexan and CF. It has a CF scoop that fits to a snorkle piece that then fits over a hole in a CF deck lid. Under the deck lid is a K&N stlye intake in a CF box that mates up to the deck lid.

I can e-mail photos of it to anyone interested. Mugen does not have pricing on it yet, even in Japan, as it is a prototype. It looks like a very functional system except for two big problems. One, it has got to really restrict rearward vision. Two, putting a scoop at the exact point on the car with the lowest air pressure does not make a lot of sense.

Mugen makes 3 different rear hatch. One is exactly like stock, just in lexan.
another one is similar to Adams', with a single scoop on top, but it it not carbon fiber.
the 3rd kind has a smaller scoop on top, and vents on the sides. Once again, none of them contain any carbon fiber parts.
The 3rd kind has a duct that connects the top scoop to the mugen engine cover. it does not direct air into the airbox, it's just for cooling purpose.

the 3 scoop version cost $4500
the single scoop version cost $4500
the lexan no scoop version costs $4000

all are special order items that take 3 months to produce.

Everyoen can come to my website and see the Mugen catalogs yourself.

to sum it up and clear any confusions. the following are all parts that Mugen CURRENTLY makes for the NSX

headers
exhaust(brand new item)
ECU, 3 different kind for different NSX models

struct bar and attachments
underbody panel(under the fuel tank)
blinker covers
rear hatches(3 styles)
engine cover(2 styles, one has ducting for the scoop, made in plastc, the other is a type-R style carbon fiber cover)

bucket seats
seat rails
harness bar(coming soon)
Takata harness

LSD
SS brake lines
brake pads

MF-10 wheels 16/17
steering wheels(3 kinds)
steering wheel adaptor

Long time ago, Mugen had more parts such as body kit, suspensions for the NSX. But they do not produce them any more

Almost all Mugen NSX parts are special order items

Has anyone found any information on where to get this rear hatch and/or duct kit? I have an intake system which would really benefit from this hatch/duct combination.

Thanks,

Andie

The rear hatch and duct kit is a prototype that was given to K&N Japan for testing by Mugen. K&N agreed not to let anyone outside of their company see it or release any information on it. K&N broke their promise to Mugen and gave it to someone who gave it to Adam, who put it on his car and put in on display at a huge auto show. Several executives at K&N Japan are now getting their butts kicked by executives from Mugen. How do you say "please don't hurt me" in Japanese?

Answer to Admm's hatch:

Plexiglass is Mugen, and Scoop is Gruppe M.

Mugen is making a limited production run on those lexan hatches for JGTC series and Gruppe M fabricated the scoop with bigger opening. Gruppe M designed this for their future use in an air-to-air intercooler for their supercharger kit.

Is that a lexan rear window? Jeez, I bet that saves a ton of weight! Someone tell me, it's not that hard have done. Please.
