This Saturday is Acura of Oakville show. We need a confirmation on how many Nsx's will be attending. There will be a tasty barbecue, authentic Acura prizes and NSX t-shirts. Why such little notice ?????
6 weeks ago, I spoke to Carmen ( Manager and partner of Acura of Oakville ...and a Prince of a Man ) after giving me a personal tour of his new place told me that a Show and Shine will take place on the 19th of July. I told several friends in the club about it and they ( as did I ) arranged our schedules accordingly.
Today I received an e-mail from Sean with a link to this thread ( which I normally would not have seen ) advising us about the Oakville Show and Shine.
What caught my attention was the shift of date from the 19th to the 12th !!!
I went to Acura and saw their desk calendar which had the 19th circled and crossed out to indicate the change Bram DECIDED to make.
People ( Bram and company )..... Why would you make such a change with such little notice ? Acura of Oakville is going all out with shirts and other prizes not to mention a really nice B.B.Que ( we're not talking hamburgers here...I heard about the menu ). It is a pity this club cannot be more organized and have the ability to give there members more than 6 days notice for an event the hosting party organized months ago and spent a lot of money and time on ( Especially since they knew for well over a month ) .The NSX club of Canada owes Acura of Oakville a lot more respect than this last minute change !
If factoryNSXtech didn't start this thread it probably would never have been mentioned at all. Not a very nice way to promote your number 1 dealership !

Acura of Oakville is having a Grand Openning event, part of which is a show and shine for the NSX Club of Canada, but I'm sure everyone is welcome.

Just to clarify, the original post of this event was on June 12th - almost a month ago and exactly a month to the day ahead of the event. The original post clearly notes the rain date as the 19th with the "main date" as the 12th.
Additionally, e-mails were sent out to all members this morning as well as a follow-up email that will go out towards the end of the week.
Bram has done nothing wrong, nor has anyone from the NSX Club. I'm confused why anyone would choose to criticize hard working volunteers in such a public way - let alone when its unjustified, like now.
Please don't use your own oversight as a reason to slam people who put in hard work to ensure the Club has excellent events - especially when you haven't got the facts right.

When this event is over please come to Mosport for the Ferrari North American Event - if you get there by 4:30 pm you'll get to see the Ferraris on the track (unlike NSXers who don't go out on the track) and stay for my BBQ in support of the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame

Sorry to hear about the confusion. I am sure it wasn't meant to be a "slam" on anyone's part. Is probably just frustration on having made plans for other things on the same day.

The date has ALWAYS been the 12th. I arranged some travel around it LONG ago.
I dont know why youd post that Rick. You should have gotten confirmation first. Oakville Acura has gone through a lot to make this a great event and you're kicking up a fuss and confusing everyone with the date?

Thank you everybody for your replies. Hope to see everybody there and if not then till the next time. As a note. My posting wasn't to offend anyone or give a reason to bash fellow members. We are all part of a club connected to a car we all enjoy. A good club needs members who volunteer their extra time. These days it is hard to find that time and volunteers. Every member should be honored and thanked for their extra 2 cents. The bashing of members should stop and not be entertained. In this case it was a misunderstanding. All Rick was trying to do was help in promoting a dealership that supports the club. I believe it got misunderstood. Lets take the bashing to the track and keep it off the forums.

As it stands right now I have to help move my daughter back home. If she is able to get enough guys to help and to drive the truck I just might be able to get out of it but unfortunately I won't know until late Friday or possibly early Saturday. If I am free I will be there.
