I am just wondering what owners perspective are of both cars, I decide to make this thread to compare both great cars because they are relatively around the same pricing now. This comparision should be what people think of in overall design and performance. If anyone can lend knowledge of what they know, its appreciated. Thanks

I have been spanked by Z06s on the track many times. Performance to price - nothing beats the Z06 (I don't like Vettes, but any biased person has to give the Chevy that).

The one time I was on track w/ a C6 Z06, I spun a rod bearing at the end of the session. He was way ahead of me in line when the session started and, though I worked my way through traffic, I never saw him. 500+hp will do that I guess.

I had a deposit on one but withdrew it. Don't regret it...yet.

Crazy fast car and will scare the living crap out of ya if you don't know how to control it. Great performance car for the price no one can beat!!

I feel the Z06 is a "break-through" car, it has achieved near "world class" performance for a lot less than world class pricing.
I am impressed by the power to weight ratio, GM did a great job keeping the fat out of the Z06.
I can not comment on the Z06's performance based on my own car to car experience; but I am sure the time will come.

Hands down - best bang for the buck high performance sports car... Nothing can touch it yet. Would I trade my NSX for one knowing my friend has one and can smoke me any day of the week... Not a chance!!!

I still get more looks and people asking me about my car than he does his. Have to say I do love the feeling of that V-8 though from idle to pedal to the floor, the car is an absolute beast... All they need to do now is fix up the cheap interior, other than that a great car...

Having driven a friends, I can't argue that it's the great american sports car. It's faster and more nimble than the Mustang GT500 (at least that was my impression of my short test drive). I've never tracked my NSX (stock), but have followed my friend on a curvy mountain road. The only way I could keep up was when he was driving slow and in serious curves.

That being said, I wouldn't trade my NSX for a Z06 ever.

A Ford GT would be another story...

Leaf springs and all... it's a great sports car - American or not. In the hands of a capable driver, the car is awesome... it will beat up on the Porsche GT3 and that's saying alot.

I have one word for you, "Build Quality".

Have there been any substantiated major problems with the new Z06 build quality? I think a lot of people are basing their opinions on previous generation Vettes, rather than looking solely at the merits (or lack thereof) on the existing generation.

Well they did have the problem of the roof de-laminating....I believe they have taken care of that issue. Read of many instances of the roof panel flying off on corvette forum when the first Z's were out. BUT....Like the last time this was posted...I don't see any comparisons to be made between the cars.....I mean obviously in performance it's the Z06 hands down.....Looks/style = NSX all the way. IMHO

Does the Z06 have the same "WOW" factor when your in it? Can you go in and out of corners better then the NSX? Everyone can drive in a straight line, but throw a corner or 2 in there and see what happens.

Lets say we are comparin a NA2 (02-05) to a C5 vette in that same range of years. The NSX has maintained its value.

Porsche has won more lemans races than corvette or ferrari or lamborghini or any other auto maker 9 out of 11 races for 06 year.

Corvette engine sits upfront and not in the middle, polar enertia will hurt/effect any front engine car when tracked.

Actually, thats not true. The Z06 is only cheap in terms of initial cost.
When you factor is how much Z06 tires cost compared to NSX tires, when you factor in depreciation/mile, the Z06 is not cheap.

I would rather buy a $90,000 NSX that I can sell for $70,000 3 years later then a $70,000 Z06 that I can only sell for $29,000 3 years later.

1) I would never give up my NSX.

2) I would consider owning it next to my NSX

3) vettes depreciate so quickly , I would consider buying a 2 yr old one.

4) Z06 is awesome car but build quality is iffy.

5) I drove a C5 Z06 for 2 days on a track but it only took a 20 min test drive to buy my 03 NSX.

The C6 Z06 is an amazing car.

I would trade for the performance anyday of the week, while I like the look of Z06, I think it look great, have a lot of presence, and fairly rare, very much already a maximum performance car for the street. I probably be very happy with the power in stock form however, the car is not my style. NSX still look better hands down.

If I can buy one as daily driver 3 year later for under $30k, I would. I can see it go for $40k but $30k may take a long...wait.

I would not trade both pinks for it though or even just NSX. Skyline R34 or R35 on the other hand?.

I have the joy of being able to drive a German, Japanese, and American sports car around the city or country roads. I can honestly say that the Audi and NSX are more fun when going slow (speed limit). The Z06 has no equal in the performance department. It is worth every pennyof $80,000. After driving the Z06 the NSX feels like a golf cart in quicksand. The interior of Z06 is updated compared to NSX. However, the Audi's interior puts them both to shame for half the price. While all three are fun to drive, I would choose the NSX if I could only have one.
1) Unique
2) FEELS more like a racecar
3) Looks better than a vette

Here are some pics I took after the rain let up today. (the Z06 kicked the Audi out of it's 3 year spot in the garage - wahhh)
