Accessory foot light not working

Guys, this is stumping me. I've just noticed that the interior light under the steering wheel next to the interior fusebox is not working. As I recall, it came on when the door opens. So, I first checked the bulb and the filament was fine (no burn marks or break). I then proceded to check ALL 3 fuse boxes for blown fuses... nada- all fine and intact. So for you Gurus out there, what's the deal? Also, just to let you know, all my interior dome lights, door lights work fine and the cigarette and clock are functional as well...

Any advice is appreciated.

Did you replace the bulb with one that works? I looked at mine and they appear to be the type that would break inside the metal housing

No I assumed it was fine... but I will go to Advance and pick up an extra bulb. Hopefully that will work.
