Looks like I need to replace the clutch slave cylinder, Can it be accessed from above or is it necessary to remove the shift cables and access from below?

Thanks you.

I am in the process of helping a fellow NSX owner replace his clutch. I pulled the slave from the top.

Remove the air cleaner, disconnect the fluid line from the slave and then the two bolts that attach the slave to the transmission. Easy as that.

Thanks guys. I'm going to give it a try from the top first. I am a little hesitant to in from the bottom, even though I have a lift, as I am worried that I may get something ot of sorts when I remove the shift cables.

Drew, Even if you come up from the bottom you shouldn't have to disconnect the shift cables. If you do they are "Murphy Proofed". They will only go on one way. Those little Japanese engineers were really smart when they designed this car.

Just a follow up note for future reference and searches: After removing the airbox I had no trouble replacing the clutch slave cylinder and hose. There is no need IMO to jack the car up and go in through the bottom.

thanks to all who provided advice.
