AC Issue

Well, my AC hasn't worked since I purchased the car...and I'm starting to drive it more than I usually do. Took the car in to a shop, they charged me $200 for an R12 refill and repair of a leak. However, it was still blowing hot air. Mechanic informed me that hose leading up to the firewall (I think that is what you call it) is ice cold, the problem has something to do with a gateway that switches from hot to cold...gateway is apparently not opening.

I am now going to take the car to someone that specializes in AC repair. Does this sound like a climate control computer issue? Or is there actually some gateway type deal? If it is the climate control, any good shops out their that do rebuilds?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated..we've hit 100+ weather in so cali.

Thanks

Prime member BrianK is the CCU guru around here. Everyone I know sends him theirs for repair. I suggest you do the same.

Take the car down to Autowave in Huntington Beach. They fixed my AC problem and a heat issue that I failed to mention to them. It's worth the drive.
