I just flushed my brakes last night. Pretty straight forward. Got some great info of the FAQ section. Used some old Napa $1.99 one man bleeder with a one way valve. However, the ABS solenoid head looks like it might be tricky. The factory service manual recomends some bleeder T wrench. It appears to be a high presure point as well. Anyone have pointers, things to watch out for like high velocity brake fluid hosing down my paint job.

I strongly recommend getting the T bleeder wrench. It's not very expensive and makes life much easier.

Also, when you run the ABS system to pump the new fluid in, make sure you do not run it more than 30 seconds at a time without letting it rest a few minutes or you can burn out the pump .

I must have confused the price with something else. I don't know about lead time but you can probably get a better price by ordering from Tracy Townsend in the Parts Department at Gunn Acura and having him ship it. 800-328-GUNN - tell him I sent you! If list is $150 it'll probably still be over $100 though.

It's possible to do the job without the wrench, it's just a pain.

You can get the wrench from GUNN as Lud suggests. I paid about $110 (can't really remember exactly). Go to www.danoland.com and look at the procedure Dan has posted. He offers a detailed procedure and how to make the special switch to activate the ABS system pump. It is a great writeup and it works. I have done it on many NSX's in my area.

LarryB,

Thanks for the link. Dan did an excellent job on the write up. It has pictures and everything. The turkey baster may take longer than the bleeder T wrench but at least I can get it done.
