At 167K miles my ABS light has started to come on. It's been creeping up slowly with the pump running longer and longer. The first ABS light was last week. And then started coming on about 50% of the time that I drove the car. It rained a little earlier this week so I did about 20 ABS stops from around 25 MPH. That seemed to have helped for a few days but now it's back on again.
I've never flushed the ABS system, just topped it off. I've read the tech article on-line. I would guess my next step is to flush the system. Anyone disagree? If that fails, then it starts looking expensive.
At 167K miles, I'm not sure I want to pay Honda $2K to fix the system. Then considering my clutch has around 60K miles, so that's another $2K. The car isn't even worth $18K with the current mileage. Perhaps it's time to sell if I can't resolve the issue. I've driven it for about 90K miles, so I guess I've had my fun. I guess I could also just drive the car without ABS.....
