Abs/alb

My ABS/ALB has begun to act up and and i found the link here http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php?t=151393 but my aren't as bad yet as to be throwing the abs lights on in the dash. But all together,very annoying........

On start up as the car is slowly moving the pumps would come on. This will take anywhere from a few second to a few min. It'll stop and coutinue again until it goes away. At least until i park the car for alwhile and it starts all over again. But just last night I had enough of this B.S, so I took it out to a dirt road ( it never rains when you want it too. ) and work the abs/alb as mention in other threads. I did about ten min of hard panic stop and go.

Later the night i took it out again to see if that did it but to my surprized the abs still pumps like it had been but this time the abs will pump continuously within the same amount of time as before. There were on pause in between time, After that it goes away. So, after all that! Should i invest in a new abs system? What other options are there for me? Help fellow primer's.....

Look up some of my posts on the ABS system. I have done quite a bit with the ABS unit on the NSX.

If you are willing to have the ABS disabled send me your mailing address and I will send you a jumper wire to put on the pressure switch connector and all of your problems will GO AWAY.....but so will the ABS. That is the cheap way to go. The SOS ABS upgrade is the NICE way go go, but also the most expensive......your call here.

All it takes is to jack up the left side of the car so you can get to the connector that goes to the pressure switch which is on the bottom of the ABS unit near the accumulator. The accumulator looks like a gold sphere. There is an orange color two wire connector that goes to the pressure switch. Check my posts for pictures.

The ABS unit can be rebuild by a skilled persion, and you might have a faulty pressure switch or an accumulator that will not pressurize, or even a leaky solenoid? Accumulator and swtich can be replaced if it is. Or like OLDMNSX said bypass it all together.

Thanks Brad, I just got done doing what you just mention. I found a thread somewhere here with a diagram showing how to jump it.The annoying cycling pump is gone along with the abs but I guess that'll do for now.

When my ABS pump started running a lot, I had the system flushed, and it was all better. Not expensive at all, and worth a try.

The jumper wire is either a "Band-Aid" till you get time/money to return the system to full operation or you decide that you can live without ABS. It gets rid of the noisy pump cycling at the most inopertune time.
