A slotted wing question

Hello,

The manufacturer of the below wing claims that the wide center slot provides additional stability. They also claims that the wing design is on LeMan cars and others. Intuitively, it seems that the center slot would cause more drag. Don't you think? Does someone happen to have any image of any modern race car with this type of wing design? Nguyen, JMO but it looks hidious,check out the wings C/F on SOS SITE. they have a large selection also cybernation does also

ps I dont know your intended application for the wing but remember they are air brakes and stay away from those with to much down force fixed.you will be stuck with a cool looking boat anchor that slows your ride
