A lot of CHP activity on the 605 in Irwindale last Sat.

I was heading south on the 605 freeway around 10:30 last Saturday when I saw at least 8 cars pulled over by CHP bikes and cruisers in a 3-4 mile stretch. It looked like the CHP was on a crack-down mission. I thought I saw some officers on one of the overpasses. I wonder if they were using the new radar gun that I have heard about. Anyone else encounter this activity on the 605 or an other freeway lately?

What portion of the 605 is this "stakeout" happening?

Southbound between the 210 Freeway on the North and the 10 Freeway to the South. Most of the cars were pulled over towards the southern portion of this stretch of road. I would guess between Arrow Highway and Ramona Road.

Basically 605 N and S between the 210 to the 10? That is a Very Open and Wide stretch of road. You can go 80+ without even realizing the speed you are doing.

They pulled over soccer moms talking on their cell phones and drivers in lanes 1 and 2 driving slower than the flow of traffic who won't get over. That amounts to wreckless driving (cell phone use) and inhibiting the flow of traffic citations.
