 So, I'm trying to sell my Acura CL on a few different message boards, which means my e-mail address is out there for prospective buyers and scammers alike. Thus, not surprisingly, I've gotten lots of bites from scammers. I've been corresponding with one of them and this is my reply to this evening's e-mail...

My responses in caps below (the spammer is Lucky Emmanuel).

I can't believe people fall for that shit. I get it ALL the time....I write back every time

F@$%K YOU NIGERIANS!!!

They never write back.

How do you know he's a scammer? Nothing in the e-mail really says scam to me..unless there were ones before it..or you count his weird sentence structure.

I get emails all the time from scammers trying to get my ebay account and password. Some of them are getting pretty crafty. Last week I had an item up for sale. I received an email that asked if I would except a lot more money for an item than it was worth. When I went to answer the email trough what looked just like ebays system it prompted me to enter my password. I wrote in my user name and password "nice try asshole."

he was looking for me to accept 20K in a (fake) cashier's check then I'd cut him a real check for 8K. its a total scam....

bwahahahaha!

Scammers getting more creative all the time.

I get a lot off ebay and paypal spam mails.
One very well known is where they ask you to confirm your password blah blah.
So what i always do is hover my mouse over the link they provide, and see the REAL link which i would be directed to. Just to see what they upto this time. Last week i got a mail, and it was the same thing again, password/username, blah blah, as soon as i moved my mouse over the link, it actualy pointed to the right URL/domain (think it was ebay). Little investigation showed a 'mouseover' function used, which displayed the link , but still would send you to some chinese server.

Wonder how many people actualy fall for this crap.

Enough to make them keep doing it over and over and over.
