*Anyone else running? :)

Dear Friends and Family,

On Sunday, November 7, 2010, I will compete in the 41st Running of the ING New York City Marathon as a member of Team Tillman New York. One of the world's largest and most popular marathons, the 26.2 mile course covers all five boroughs of New York City, beginning on Staten Island and finishing outside Tavern on the Green in Central Park, Manhattan.

Team Tillman is a group of dedicated athletes who identify with the values exhibited by Pat Tillman and want to help carry forward his legacy of leadership and civic action. Last year, over 6,800 runners representing 85 charity partners collected over $24 million in donations to support a wide-range of causes.

This year, Team Tillman New York 2010 teammates from across the country have set a goal to raise $169,000 to support the Tillman Military Scholars program. The Pat Tillman Foundation is focusing its efforts on becoming the national leader in providing resources and educational support to this deserving group. The scholarship program aids all veterans and specifically the ever-growing population of veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts and their families.

Please join the team of Tillman supporters nationwide by donating today at: http://www.active.com/donate/teamtillmannewyork10/TTNYLCavana1. Please note, the Pat Tillman Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.

With proceeds from Team Tillman and through generous support from individuals, corporations and organizations throughout the country, the Pat Tillman Foundation strives to increase the scholarship funds awarded nationally each year to Tillman Military Scholars to $3.6 million, representing the NFL contract Pat walked away from when he enlisted in the U.S. Army.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of this very important effort to support the service men and women like Pat who have dedicated their lives to protecting ours.
