A different approach for in car MP3

For a quick-and-dirty solution, why not just pop for one of those solid state MP3 adapters that you just pop into the cassette player?

I watched a show this weekend and the electronic tech geeks liked the unit you speak of; however, the only way you can change tracks is to remove the device out of the tape player, advance to the next track by pushing a button, then re-inserting the unit back into the tape player. They really didn't like that feature (non) at all.

Do you know of another Green-Black roof NSX?? Please email me if you do.

Lots of options depending on what you like to do -

You can use any MP3 player with a standard (on wire) cassette adapter if you want.

Other than that, you have a lot of work to do for good functionality. I know Bonez' setup is pretty wicked, but certainly not trivial with the RioCar/EmpegCar unit.

With my setup, i went and used an adapter that allows you to hook up 2 items threw the changer port...

I used one for the changer and one with a mini jack that goes to my sony NW-9 mp3 player.

I have a Digisette and this is not the case. You hit the FF and RR buttons to move through tracks instantly. Problem is battery life is short, sound quality is equal to tape at best, and the number of is very limited.

It is inexpensive at about $200. I got mine off Ebay for $100.

I absolutely LOVE my 20GB iPod (Apple).

It's a great fit for the NSX because of its small size. It fits nicely into the coin tray in the center console.

I use a cassette adapter which sounds great to me and it lets me use it in my other vehicles, take the unit with me for sync-ing, and use outside of the car.

Oh, it also works with Windows too.

Please do tell more on what this switcher is. Is it compatible with the stock head unit, or is it an Alpine part that would come after whatever adapter cable switched the signal wires around.

I also would like to run an Archos 20gb jukebox or other Mp3 player. Originally I was thinking of just splicing into the L+R audio signals of the CD changer and hooking a custom switch to it to toggle the audio source. Ideally this switch would fool the head unit into thikig the track never ended so as to not confuse it.

I remember seeing such a thing for Sony CD changers, where it's application seemed to be for limo's swiching TV source. Is there such a thing in the Alpine world as well???

Thanks,
Fabian
