They are telling me they checked the evaporator and all fittings but cannot find the problem. I am suppose to take the car back next week for them to check for the presence of dye. HELP!

I also went through the long process of recharging and leak checking with dye. Over the past 1 1/2 years I have had 4 recharges and had to replace the compressor that seized more likely cause by low Freon. After all that work I got the good news a couple of weeks ago that they had found the leak in the "evaporator". The good news was they were going to wave the evac and recharge cost of the repair about $240 because of all the work that I had already paid for so it would only be $1800. to fix it.

I declined the repair and ordered a new evaporator from Niello, will see if the dealer will honor their offer to do the evac and recharge for free without the parts and labor profit. I did get notice from Acura that I was going to be soon receiving a survey on my service experience.

FYI the only way to find a small leak in the evaporator is to remove the blower assy. which is not normally done. Once the leak gets bigger they can find it with a sniffer. At least you got converted to the cheaper 134A :p
