A/C compressor seizure

The compressor on my 91 seized yesterday. The belt made a squealing sound and I immediately shut off the A/C but from what I have read it sounds like the entire system will need to be cleaned. I have read some information about flushing the system and installing a new compressor, dryer and one expansion valve in the faq section. Does anyone have any words or wisdom on this procedure?
