Has anyone else encountered more than 1 compressor failure in the life of their NSX? Mine was replaced at 26k, by the last owner, and it need replacing again only 5k miles later. The problem is its been 4 years and Acura does not want to hear about it. Its such a shame. I run the AC whenever its driven, but thats at most once per month....

Was Acura able to determine why the second compressor failed so soon? Perhaps there are contaminants in your a/c system from the aftermath of the initial compressor failure which destroyed the second one.

There are several possible causes, but the two most likely are probably either Russ's suggestion about contaminated system, or a slow freon leak. If the compressor is run with a low freon level, it can be damaged.

You are right it is probably going to be difficult to get Acura to do much if it has been 4 years even though the miles are so low. You can try to appeal with the zone service manager for your region though, and for the amount of money involved it's probably worth talking to him.

I don't know if this will help or not but our Acura dealer offers a 12 month / 12k mile warranty on parts and service.

You maybe SOL with the transfer or the time but it is worth a shot if you have the receipts.
