99 NSX- Keyless Remote

I just recently purchased a silver 99 NSX. What a car!! One problem I am having is the keyless remote. It just won't work. I inserted new batteries, no luck. I went to the dealer who contacted Kenwood the maker of the OEM remote. I was advised the part is on back order. After a long run around I spoke to Mr. Yoshi Fukuyama (310-761-8235) worldwide sales director at Kenwood. He advised me the part has been on back order for 8 months. But he located a new remote and programed it to match the code of the remote that is not working. I obtained the new remote today via Fedex and... it still won't work. I now have two remotes that are not working. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

First check the stupid stuff: Does your car, in fact, have the Keyless Remote system, and is it plugged in? There is a section in the FAQ on installing the OEM module, use it to check yours out (it's under the glove compartment).

If it's there and plugged in it might not be working (obviously).

I've recently researched the Keyless Entry Module to try and figure out how to program a new remote (and see if I could get the panic button to pop the trunk) and I basically found nothing useful. With that in mind the rest of this is PURE SPECULATION on my part:

It is possible that the Keyless Entry Module has forgotten the keys it was programmed with. After taking it apart I'm willing to bet that the jumper inside the module is there to clear the numbers. As a long shot you might try to reprogram it, see this post
