97 Headers on 91 (o2 sensor)

Will the o2 sensor from a 91 exhaust manifold fit and work on 97 OEM headers if they take the manifolds place. if not why? Saw this and have concerns.

NA2 Headers ('97-'99) Installation in NA1 NSX ('91-'96):
- Remove pre-'97 cast-iron headers/manifolds (clear-coat/seal & use boat-anchors!)
- Install '97-'99 headers.
*Either modify the ends of the '97-'99 headers to fit the NA1 cats
-or-
*Modify the 'entry'/inlet part of the NA1 cats to fit the '97-'99 headers.

Note: Need to cut/weld & replace 02 sensor to another location; exhaust/muffler shop can do this.

Thanks

First off I want to thank everyone for their Response... all around me feedback but none for sockeye ???
anyone else that goes through this project will run across the o2 sensor cables being to short from oem 97-99 headers. I am having the cables lengthened for my shortcut to to situation. The muffler shop charged $188 for adapting cats to headers. Header install $300,Haven’t noticed much change in sound,ARK exhaust. Hope to feel improvement in power but not to much sense of a difference yet.

From what I have read, swapping the OEM headers will not make as much difference as going with Comptech of DC, but it should be noticeable. I had always thought if you went with 97 headers on a 91 you would need to replace everything behind the headers with 97+ parts to make it work.

Its been done. Lengthened o2 sensor cables to front 14" back 10". Had cats customized to fit 97 headers and all seems to be good. I am sure that more advanced headers i.e. equal length, longer tubes would be better, but the cost was right and I like the idea of not worrying about cracked headers. Also had to trim a little bit off of one of the guards on undercarriage because the sensor is lower. I am sure almost anything is better than those Archaic manifolds.
