964 owner searching for NSX north Jersey

Greetings,

I am new to the forum :) Where do I start? I currently own a 964 and hoping to add an nsx to the stable. Owning two might be tough but I think I can manage. I do a lot of my own works. NSX has always been my poster car. ever since i got to learn about cars in high school. excuse me guys, I became a gear head late in age. Along the way I proudly owned an s2000 now the 964. I can tell you driving experience of the two if you are interested.

Been lurking and reading a lot about nsx, like everyone here, I am trying to absorb as much info as possible to be an informed buyer. So far it has been very positive. unfortunately, I've never driven an NSX. Don't have connection to a nsx owner around me. The PCA guys seem to stay with pcars more often than not.

Now I am getting more serious of getting one. seeing what happened to the aircooled market. It's probably now or never. Am I correct about this?

I wonder what would be a right approach to gather more info on an out of state car? I am actually having a conversation on a Pittsburg car from a dealer. The dealer encourages me to hire 3rd party specialist to inspect the car before coming out.

Do nsxprime members offer nsxprimefax? This would be tremendous help. Otherwise, who should I hire in that region? The car is priced at 37k with 91000 miles 92MY. Dealer claims exterior and interior are 9/10. tb and wp changed at 85k miles but it was in 2005. These are all the info I have at the moment. Still early in the conversation.

I understand I should see a few if possible. However, inventory seems dry in the North East.

And If I may make one request. Is it possible to let me drive your car if you are around NYC area? Of course You are welcome to drive the 964 as well.

Cheers,

Ken

I'm in Basking Ridge, which is more north-central than north NJ. But let me know. I've driven Ferraris, Lambos, Vipers, 'vettes but somehow never a Porsche. So, this could be educational for both of us.

Cute name - nsxprimefax :)

Most of us NSX junkies are more than happy to pop in to a dealership and run through a car with an educated eye. Hopefully some Pittsburgh owners will chime in - if not, make another post with your request for a local review of a car more clearly spelled out.

Nice looking Porsche, thanks for sharing the photo.

Where in North Jersey? I am willing to help out as well since temperatures seem to be record breaking this week. May give me an excuse to take the NSX one more time this year!

thanks guys,

I am from edgewater nj. I can certainly meet up with anyone in harriman park, or the bear mountain. perhaps a small group meet for information exchange?
dealer called me. Paint meter reading is 6.5 across the panels. except a 7 on some area on the hood?

My 964 is going thru Suspension refresh. Hope to meet up with some NSX owners when done. Still looking to exchange experiences on the cars if anyone interested.

Hey was this you off the PIP last year? I remember meeting the owner of this 964 and him telling me he was seriously considering an NSX. Then the caymen also rolled up and we all had a chat. My wife was doing the bathroom dance so I continued on to interstate park soon after.

In any event I'm in Edgewater if you want to meet up and have a cup of coffee or something. I'm not offering a test drive though I barely let the shop that did my alignment drive it onto the rack lol. Your welcome to a ride though.
