Hi all,

I just returned from a company called Auto Connection in Montgomery, AL. I went there to check out a 96 Black NSX-T that they had listed on their website. I wanted to see what a Targa felt like, since I have a 94.

When I got there, the dealer told me that two weeks ago, some guy from Atlanta, GA, bought the car over the phone (He claimed to be a broker). He sent a cashier's check via FedEx. The dealer was in a rush, so he quickly deposited the check, and a shipping truck later picked up the NSX. It was dropped off at some shopping mall.

Several days later, the bank called the dealer, notifying him that the cashier's check in the amount of $51000 was forged.

The dealer says that this has been happening pretty often lately in the South. Of course, he didn't expect it to happen to him!

What do you guys think will happen to the NSX? Will it be stripped for parts? Do you think it will be recovered? It's very sad....it was a 15K mile, black/tan, 5-speed NSX-T!

There is alot of money in parts, but considering my bodyshop has three NSX engines, I assume that there are enough to go around. Down in FL, the cars were shipped to South America and fetched three times the money.

I called that same company just after the car had sold, its in Montgomery, ALA. He held the car for several weeks before he sold and he told me he was actually driving it as a demo. I spoke with him back in early March and he wouldn only come down $500 off the asking price. Seemed like a nice enough guy, thats to bad. I hope someone can post the VIN# for future reference. MY guess is that its out of the country or in a container ship already.
