Hi - First post here, I've been researching the DIY timing belt job. I've got the 91 service manual .pdf as well as the Gary Kentosh writeup from the FAQ section.

In a week or so, I've been nominated as the family Honda/Acura uncertified tech to perform a timing belt etc. service on a '96 m/t NSX. I have a 50mm crank tool, and thought I was all set until reading this thread:

So, am I correct in concluding that an m/t '96 will need a 45mm crank tool?

Thanks Larry! Looks like I'll be putting a 45mm attachment on my homebrew Civic/Integra crank pulley tool

I hope you have a strong 3/4" drive breaker bar for the NSX crank pulley nut.

Hopefully a nice strong impact gun is at your disposal.

Larry wasn't kidding...
My IR 1/2" impact wouldn't budge the crank bolt. Luckily, my neighbor owns the 1" hoss. That gun bucked once and the bolt was out.

Thanks NSX Prime! All finished up today - took me about 29 hours over the past 9 days, including special tool fabrication. The motor fired right up like nothing had even happened.
