Repaired my own EPS controler. This unit was warrentied for 8 years from date of vehical purchase. I was 1.5 years out. The failed parts are about $7 dollars a peice. They are relays. That make your $1200 controler unit worthless. The origial parts are 140 day waiting list from Matashita. Thats what the relays are truley Mata-shit-a. I matched them up with a generic component from the electronic supply house. That was only a 7day wait. They new relays have the same specs and posses a 100,000 duty cycle. The new relays must be modified by shaping the relay's pins to fit the board. Works great so far. To effect this repair you must have some electronic board level skills. The board has circuitry on both sides of it and desoldering is tricky if you don't have the skill or gear.

Maybe you can post up the replacement part # and source details for those who could also benefit from it. Then a pictorial 'how-to' would be of great benefit since this doesn't appear to be quite plug n play.

If you don't have that level of expertise, remember that you can send it out to BrianK on this board and he'll be happy to repair it for you inexpensively. His website is here.
