911 called for street bike accident.. Cop hangs up

Completely rediculous. . 15 days is not severe enough punishment in my opinion. He has a duty to the public. Maybe if he was a pizza boy and he hung up on an order, but not a 911 dispatcher. Think of the (couldn't think of a good word) that would cause if you couldn't rely on 911

That guy ought to be strung up.

Not the first time I've heard about something like this in fact, when I crashed my bike they tried to arrested me when I got hit by a car. I lost 1 ltr. of blood and to this day I have road rash scars on my heels, butt cheaks, and arms. After I passed out on the pavemnet, in my own puddle of blood they changed their mind. I lost two friends due to bike crashes that was not their fault, yet when you read the story in the paper they always twist the story around and blame the young motorist.

I can only imaging how some of the large cities get flooded with 911 calls, but I've never understood how one in that position can be so rude and unprofessional even if the so called incident (Which this was not) sparts 100s of calls for the same thing. I've only called 911 less tahn 10 times, but they have always been professional. Even when we reported a brush fire that just started up on the side of the freeway the dispatcher simply asked if this was at XX location and informed us they have been getting many calls about it and thanked us for our concern and for making the call. Hopefully I didn't just get the nice guys and most 911 dispatchers are caring people.

I've seen that a week ago, but anyways....What a DISGRACE to his community....Imagine if it was you calling in 911...

That is terrible, and fifteen days suspention is a slap in the face of the dead guys family. The cop basically refuses to help and then the guy dies, and the cop gets a slap on the wrist? If anyone else accidentally screws up in their job that bad they'd probably be fired, and he did it on purpose! what the hell is that?!!!

And that Police Union complained that the 15 days suspension is too harsh.
They think they are above the laws.
Steve

EXACTLY!! It is that kind of crap that really pi$$es me off about the Police. They have that whole superiority thing that just makes me mad. They obviously have NO perspective if they cannot see that this a$$clown contributed to the problem by delaying getting the rider help. There is NO excuse for that, I do not care what his department or union says. I would love to see how their tune changed if it was a cop that was hurt and treatment was delayed by someone else who said what he did.

That person should have been fired on the spot. The Union should be ashamed of themselves for arguing 15 days was to harsh.

Those guys would be all up in arms if it was one of their cop friends that died and a 911 operator said to them what he said....jerks!
