AREAS TO NOTE: (what I would want to know if I was buying this car)
-This car was not a 'garage queen' during the time I owned it. I picked up the car in January 1999 in Salt Lake City Utah and it had 18.5k miles. It now has 68k miles and counting until it is sold. I used it as my daily driver and loved every minute of it. The car has also been to the racetrack about 10 or so times while under my ownership. I believe one of the previous owners may also have tracked the car.
-There are 2 small dings on passenger door (one was there when I bought the car, the other was added earlier this year).
-Needs new rear tires - fronts have half life left.
-Oil pan gasket will need to be replaced at one of the next oil changes (about $70 for gasket plus labor) - not urgent, just some minor seepage.
-Brake bleeder valves should be replaced at about the same time the oil pan gasket is done - not urgent, just some minor seepage.
-When shifting to 5th gear under hard acceleration or over 3500rpm, you should double clutch so as not to grind gears. For 'regular' highway driving it is not necessary. (I can describe this in more detail if you're interested.

Double clutch is the term used when you engage and disengage the clutch while transitioning through neutral. For example, when shifting from 4th to 5th gear, you would disengage the clutch, take the transmission out of 4th gear. While in neutral engage the clutch and immediately disengage it (do not blip the throttle as you would on a heel-toe downshift) then select 5th gear and re-engage the clutch. This effectively does the work of the synchros.

I'm pretty picky about my shifts being silky smooth so I double clutch to make sure that they are. Most people will not care or even know what I'm talking about or why I'm even concerning myself with this. I recall reading the posts (on the NSXCA lists) of several owners who complained about the shifting from 4th to 5th and that it was balky. Double clutching was my solution to what I perceive as a problem that no one else may care about.

Mark Basch drove my car back in May during the OTC event. My mechanic also contacted him when he did the transmission rebuild. If I was going to keep the car and start racing it, I would have the transmission rebuilt by Mark Basch. For daily driving and the occasional track day, I wouldn't worry about it.

Would you be willing to sell just the original front spoiler. I'am looking for one in good condition. If you're will to sell it, please email me at [email protected], thanks.

Ok, I am not quite sure I understand this...

You are asking 32k for a car that has problems that will require (within a short period of time) a significant amount of money (the 5th gear synchro). Why not just fix the car and then sell it? I mean if the other repair is only 70 bucks, why not just spend the 70 bucks and have an easier time of selling the car?

As a person who is looking for an NSX, I just find it annoying that the car I would consider purchasing has things I need to repair immiediately.
