Do you remember Tommy Totones? The phone number 867 5309 is up for sale on (were else?) Ebay. The phone company called E bay and said its illegal for the ower to sell the number.
The last bid was at $80.000.

It is a really horrible song (heh) by Tommy Tutone called of course, 867-5309 Jenny, and the lyrics alluded to above, in full are:

Jenny Jenny who can I turn to?
You give me something i can hold on to
I know you think I'm like the other before
Who saw your name and number on the wall

Jenny, I got your number
I need to make you mine
Jenny don't change your number
8-6-7-5-3-0-9
8-6-7-5-3-0-9

Jenny Jenny you're the girl for me
You don't know me but you make me so happy
I tried to call you before but I lost my nerve
I tried my imagination, but I was disturbed

I got it,I got it
I got your number on the wall
I got it, I got it
For a good time, for a good time call

Jenny don't change your number
I need to make you mine
Jenny I called your number
8-6-7-5-3-0-9

Jenny, Jenny who can I turn to?
For the price of a dime I can always turn to you

Ah, brings back memories I never had...

If you still don't know the song, pray you never hear it, it will be in your head for days, Thanks, prova4re ;)

It was one of those one hit wonders from the early 80's.

Perhaps before you were born.......;)

Ha ha! I was born in '73. But in the 80's, I was more into breakdancing. Ya know, like "I feel for you..."

Chak-Chak-Chak-Chak-Chaka Khan... :D

Does it make you feel old when you see the shows on VH1 that talk about the 80s? My maturity level hasn't progressed along with my age...:D

I used to be in a cover band and had to sing that crappy song. Terrible. It ranked right up there with "Jesse's Girl".  You would try to play something cool, but people always asked for the cheese.

I am much happier playing originals now. ;)

Remembering the 80's. Good stuff. Anyone know the lyrics of some of the more obsure 80's songs? Like "I go crazy", by flesh for lulu for example? Is this is off topic; I apologize, its just where my mind wandered.

I don't know that song, maybe Joel can find his parachute pants and I can talk my wife into getting my hair permed again. We might remember then!

Maybe someone will remember if they think about a Mullett "hair cut"

What about Vanilla Ice... though he just makes it as an early 90's dude. The music video clip to "Ice Ice Baby" is so funny... massive baggy pants, and dance steps that give the impression the guy must have a wedgy. :D

You got that right Joel. Thanks for bringing back the memories. I can remember being in HS cranking up some of those tunes in my 50th Aniv. Turbo 300ZX with the T-tops out.

I'd give almost anything to be 17 again.
