500hp Now and pushed back a year

yeah 2016 meaning it will be out in 2015.

If this is true, it appears that they could not keep curb weight around 3000 lbs and it'll probably be 3200 lbs at least... Still very excited to see the next iteration of design refinement

Unknown hopefully we'll get full specs tomorrow

They've also dropped the third electric motor from thew new preview video (the one inside of the transmission)

Now they show only the two front wheel motors, and make a point of referring to the hybrid system as a "2-wheel" system.

Interior looks great, some concerns about how intuitive operations would be inside of it, but that you won't know until you sit in one. Still excited, seems like some of the more wild aspects are being matured.

Hey Scorp your right but in the press release they're still saying a third motor will be in the tranny

Acura provides first look at possible NSX interior design concept

DETROIT, Mich., Jan. 15, 2013 – Acura today unveiled a new NSX Concept that showcases the evolution of the next-generation supercar’s styling and design, including a first-ever look at one possible direction for the next-generation NSX interior design.

“This further evolution of the Acura NSX Concept design is remarkably true to the original concept styling,” said Mike Accavitti, vice president of national marketing operations. “We’re making great progress in delivering on the expectations we created a year ago, with advanced technology that will bring new levels of performance and a unique, dynamic experience to the exotic sports car market.”

The new Acura NSX Concept is based on the expected underpinnings of the vehicle Acura will bring to market. Still, the new NSX Concept maintains its low and wide stance with the dynamic and alluring proportions that debuted in the original NSX Concept at the 2012 North American International Auto Show -- highlighted by clean, modern and simple surfacing, and edgy details that communicate supercar attitude and a high-tech feel.

The new NSX Concept also features a first-ever look at one potential direction for the next-generation Acura NSX interior design. The design concept is founded on a “Human Support Cockpit” theme, a strong expression of Acura’s product direction focused on “the synergy between man and machine.” The interior package boasts outstanding visibility, an exotic driving position, and an intuitive “Simple Sports Interface” that minimizes interior clutter, allowing the driver to focus on the driving experience. “Consistent with the spirit of the original NSX, our intention is to support the psychological and emotional aspects of driving a super car at the limit, because we are insistent about delivering on the synergy between man and machine,” said Jon Ikeda, chief designer, Acura Design Studio. “Importantly, this will be true of all Acura vehicles moving forward.”

With the aim of delivering a new sports car experience that combines next-generation supercar dynamic capabilities with advanced environmental performance, Acura announced a year ago that the Acura NSX will be powered by a mid-mounted, direct-injected V-6 engine mated to Acura’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system.

Acura Sport Hybrid SH-AWD is an all-new, three-motor high-performance hybrid system that combines torque vectoring all-wheel drive with advanced hybrid efficiency through the use of three electric motors – one motor integrated with the V-6 engine and two motors driving the front wheels – along with an all-new dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The system enables instant delivery of negative or positive torque to the front wheels during cornering to achieve a new level of driving performance unparalleled by current AWD systems. As previously announced, the new NSX is being developed by a global R&D team led by designers and engineers at Honda R&D Americas, Inc. located in Los Angeles, California, and Raymond, Ohio. The new NSX will also be manufactured at a new production facility in central Ohio.

Honda Executive:
Ambitious Goals Aim to Propel Acura in Luxury MainStream

bilde

Honda’s Acura brand is poised to take its place among the industry’s mainstream luxury brand with new products and ambitious sales goals, a top executive said today.

Acura will have a bigger push in the U.S. going forward, said John Mendel, executive vice president with American Honda, who was in Detroit to speak at the Automotive News World Congress.

The 2014 Acura NSX, to be built in Ohio, marks the return of the super car.

The 3rd-generation MDX will go on sale mid-year and the prototype was unveiled this week at the North American International Auto Show. In addition to a new 3.5-liter engine, the crossover introduces a 2-wheel-drive option to appeal to southern states.

The new Acura RLX sedan goes on sale March 15 with a price range of $48,450 to $60,450.

The brand is very North American-centric with about 95% of Acuras sold here.

“We have not adopted a push strategy on Acura,” Mendel said. The pull strategy consists of exporting to China, Russia, the Middle East and other markets wanting Acuras.

“The U.S. is still the lead but there are people overseeing some of the distribution of Acura globally.”

Acura had a curious birth.

"Acura was conceived originally as an interceptor brand," Mendel said, established as a place for Honda customers wanting more content in their vehicles.

“It was never truly envisioned as a luxury brand,” he said. “It was a technology platform.”

It wasn’t until 6 or 7 years ago that the automaker saw Acura evolve as a true brand and it has taken the focus of the last several years to define it.

A senior Honda executive described Acura as always orbiting Honda, Mendel said.

But the brand is at a tipping point. “Now it is time to send Acura into its own orbit,” Mendel said.

Acura will contribute to the parent company’s ambitious global goals: 6 million in sales by March 31, 2017.

North America will account for 2 million of those sales with the U.S. delivering 1.8 million – up from about 1.5 million now. Mendel expects U.S. sales to grow to 16 million in the next couple years and Honda plans to take a bigger share of that market.

By the end of this fiscal year, March 31, 2013, global sales are expected to be 4 million.

Much of the growth – 1.5 million sales – will be small subcompact cars based on the new platform for the Honda Fit coming in the spring of 2014 and the new crossover that was unveiled at the Detroit auto show and will go on sale in late 2014. Because the new Fit-based SUV is small, it will not affect sales of the larger CR-V, Mendel said.

When the new plant in Celaya, Mexico, starts making the Fit and crossover next year, Honda will be using North American plants to make 95% of what it sells in the U.S. “No other manufacturer comes close to that arc,” Mendel said.

North America currently takes the lead on product development for 30% of the Honda and Acura lineup now and that will increase as well.

North America will take the lead on more key models such as Accord, next-generation Civic and CR-V, Mendel said. The NSX is also being developed here and most light trucks come from North America including the Odyssey minivan and the Pilot and MDX.

Taken from a poster on Temple of Vtec - RolledaNsx :

What would be your estimated Horsepower on a 3.0L V6 DOHC cam'd to 8000 rpm with a 10.2:1 compression with 17 psi of boost.Don't know if it will be dual or single but if they are going VCM it most likely will be duel.
It will be a 90 degree vee three throw with DI,VTEC on both sides and most likely VCM.

The answer from Shawn Church was - 600hp was possible without too much effort. :D

600 hp - only when you combine the electric motors - and I doubt that even. Why limit the engine to 3 litres? What makes anyone think the new NSX will be limited to 3 litres when they are making flagship engines at more than that now. I doubt very much it will be a 3 litre. I also do not think that you can take a 3 litre production engine and pump out 600 trouble free HP - ummmm no. No one else is that produces an exotic - what on earth would make you think Acura would. Not happnin. If this car comes out with a combined HP including electric motor of 500 hp that would be awesome enough. That would be more than most can even begin to explore, especially on the street.

Another way to look at it - Porsche has a 3.8 litre engine in its Carrera S putting out a naturally aspirated HP rating of 400. If it was so easy to do - then believe me other sports car dedicated companies would be doing it. No they use V8s, V10s and V12s to do that. Shawn is a great restorative NSX mechanic but I don't think he's an engineer. The trick is not to see how many horses you can wring out of the smallest power plant , like they have done with pure racing engines in F1, but to be able to produce a maintainable hp that delivers miles of great driving without blowing up or having issues - that you can bet is Honda's aim. This isn't a race engine that gets rebuilt every other race. Oh 17 psi of boost is not a maintenance free type boost.

My 2 cents....
