Hello Primers,

I'm interested to find out how (and the best way) to install a 4pt harness.

I read the instructions and it says the points should be on bolts connected to the car, not the seat.

I know the shoulders will probably require a bar of some kind, but where do the sides mount to?

thanks in Advance

I havnt installed one in an NSX yet. I did however install one in my 93 MR2 turbo. The way that did it was that we found a place on the floor between the seat rail and the door sill and bolted down a plate that we then tapped and bolted the harness into that.
may not have been the best, but I didn't move with the belt tied down.

You might post this question in track talk as a good majority of them have probably installed harness or atleast know where to get the best info. Good luck.

The harness bars made (some of them) do have a threaded hole to mount the seat belts to the bar, not the seat. I know someone who has a perfect NSX harness bar for sale. I will check if they have the threaded hole I described.

Regards,
LarryB

In my Schroth 4 pt harness, the back of the shoulder part of the harness is bolted to a harness bar. The other two points (lap connections) are connected to the same location the seat belt attached to.

I thought the lap belts are supposed to be connected to the car (as described in the manual that came with the harnesses) is that an issue (safety wise)? I see that as the easiest way for sure.

and LarryB, let me know about that harness bar. I'm interested in getting one soon!
