4 way flasher light

Hazard light switch question

Is there supposed to be a light inside the actual switch that you press to activate the 4 way hazard lights? When I activate mine the turn signal indicators on the dash blink but the red circular switch housing stays dark.

My '91 behaves the same way. This is normal operation of the hazard switch. It does not light up when activated as observed this on many other NSXs.
