January 13, 2005 — An Illinois man and his girlfriend managed to rack up nearly $1400 in speeding tickets on a trip through Wisconsin -- all within three hours.

Twenty-one-year-old Piotr Pac of Prospect Heights was pulled over on Interstate 90 in Rock County on New Year's Day. The State Patrol says he was going 100 miles an hour.

About an hour later he was stopped doing 84 miles an hour in Columbia County. Then a-half hour later -- 77 miles per hour in Sauk County. An hour and a-half after that -- while Pac was napping -- his 18-year-old girlfriend was caught doing 108 miles an hour in Dane County.

Pac says he drove to Wisconsin Dells to pick up his girlfriend at a party and had to be back home to work by ten a-m. He says he just hopes his parents don't find out about the speeding tickets.

talk about bad luck.....

I highly doubt this story is true. Most of the time someone gets a ticket they immediately reduce speed for a few weeks / months afterwards. This is why I like police presence on the roads far better than stupid cameras, which have no immediate effect on a speeder who won't get the ticket til weeks later.

Unless this guy was high on drugs or filthy rich, I doubt a ticket would have no effect on his driving.

Story is true, I saw him on the local news last night. His girlfriend got a ticket as well for 108mph when they switched drivers coming back. What a loser.

I want to know what the girlfriend was thinking driving 108 mph after they had just received 3 TICKETS BEFORE THAT!!

Agreed. Either these two people are looking for free publicity of the worst kind, or they are terminally stupid.

Sadly, I vote for terminally stupid. After having been involved in various customer service jobs over the years, almost nothing seems impossible where morons are concerned.

I hate to admit it but when I was 18 I received two speeding tickets in the same day. The worst part is the same officer gave me both tickets in the furthest ends of the county. How is that possible I was thinking as he walked up to the car the second time.

Two summers ago I received three speeding tickets with in a 30 day period. I am so lucky my G/F's mother worked for the DA's office at the time.

Funny story. That exact thing happened to me when I was in college, although not by the same officer. The cop asked me, "when did you recieve you last citation?"

My reply, "Uh, what time is it now officer?"

The other day a news report said something about stiffer fines for repeat speeding offenders in NY. Something to the effect of, if you have more than a certain amount of points on your record the fine will double or triple. Anyone hear anything about this? I can not find anything on the web about it.

This story is proof we all need faster supercars. If he owned a Murcielago, he could have received a ticket for doing a more respectable speed, like 180mph. :D And with a Murcielago, he may have even escaped a ticket or two. :D

Does anybody agree with my logic? Or should i befriend these two losers? :p :D lol

i got three in 24 hours, two of them by the same cop in the same spot (24 hours apart, on my way to work). d'oh!

i actually have a scanned copy of my driving record from the 80s and 90s online somewhere, i'll have to dig it up, it's pretty ridiculous. haven't had a ticket now since jan 1, 2000 and im a step 11. not bad considering i used to be a step 35! i've mellowed a LOT over the years, though the wife thinks i still drive too fast.

not to brag... but i have been pulled over more than 35 times... and have recieved over 30 tickets in my entire driving history( currently 3.5 years ) i got my license when i was 18, im 22 now...

so 3.5 years and 30 some odd stops, and 1 license suspension(due to points violation of course), and i still top over 105 everyday.... but i have yet to recieve a ticket since last april (almost a whole year!!!).

I am getting better and spoting cops and avoiding them ;)

if you do the math, thats 30tickets/28 months.... equals more than 1 ticket a month
