4.55 Comptech Ring & Pinion

This past Memorial day at Lime Rock Park, at Peters Mill's event we had a tech session with Peter Cunningham.
He said that his team uses OEM ring and pinions in the NSX and that the aftermarket ones did not stand up for them.
Has anyone in the street world found this to be the case?

Not a bad day day to reflect on though!I've put about 20k miles on a CT 4.55, many track miles and not a peep or groan.
 
There were some reported problems with early CompTech production R&Ps. There is obviously also an understandable predjudace towards Honda OEM parts where the performance difference on a circuit is negligible.

From a standing start it might be a little different but I can't blame them from wanting to stick with Honda parts.
 
I didn't think they were allowed to run an aftermarket R&P with a different ratio in the World Challenge series...?
