guys was thinking about putting the engine and tranny from an 2002 and dropping it into my 1992?

I know I would need to retain the Throttlebody from my 92 but

is there anything I should think about first?

I read somewhere on prime that if I Kept my 92 heads and fit it right onto the 3.2L bottom and keep my throttlebody from my 92 it will work.

I dont know what it would take to transfer the thottle by wire crap to convert my 92 for this.

the dream convertion, engine and tranny sides and rear minus the bubble eyes. and full interior conversion. would be pimp.

heres some links

the 2002 has an air pump system. I don't know how you get rid of it. (the early (1997-1999?) 3.2L engines dont have it,)

I purchased a 2002 as a parts car, for my 2004 Fire damaged build.

so I have no need for the 3.2L engine and tranny.

so why not put it in my 92 for fun.

wouldnt need to buy anything as its already there.

maybe the reverse lockout relay from SOS if they still sell them

also the air pump isnt needed to pass smog in a 92. and they dont have smog testing in FL, you can burn plastic as fuel and its OK

The 3.2 has air injection plumbed into the heads. You need to swap your heads from the 92 and change the intake valves or find a way to block of the air injection ports on the 3.2 heads. (the latter will be a PITA) The 3.2 intake valves are larger than the 3.0. For the valves I would send your 3.0 heads to Comptech or SOS for intallation. If the mileage is low enough I would just take the valves from the donor car. I think it's a great idea to change over to the 3.2. Oh and before I forget you need a AEM EMS to run the 3.2 or get your ECU chipped for a 3.2 if there is such a thing.

I don't see how it could be worth the hassle... If it were me, I would sell it and just use that money to mod the 3.0 and keep the 6speed. I don't think the 3.2 6spd vs a 3.0 6spd would be enough of a difference to warrant all the work / cost / rigging.

its easy, did mine 3 years ago! just welded up the flanges to seal the ports on the head, added the idle control motors to the intake along with the throttle cable bracket and bolted on the cable throttle body. Than just toss in the older coils and add the sensor for the coolant gauge to work and thats it! for the six speed lockout i used my ems and a relay. Its been turbocharged and making 500whp for 2 years now and i love it!!

I think unless you need a new motor it may not be worth the trouble. You could sell the 3.2 and have enough to do a lot of mods to your 3.0.

Thats true!! in my case i had no motor so opted for the 3.2 cause all the 3.0 i found were automatic

Shawn If I had an extra nsx engine laying aroung. I would make a cool kitchen table out of it, big clear glass on top of that sucker. Talk about a conversation piece.
