On the Avic forums the people who purchased it have said it is not worth $$. Wait until someone will upload the file for free. The best upgrades for the Avic series are the mods done by members (free).

yea thats why I posted it in the first post

I'm unclear on what to do though.... mine is not modified (other than the bypass with switching the wires) so I don't get their instructions...

no. the upgrade is the same software that the x910 uses and we have been bypassing them just fine.

No issues here... I have the hard bypass done and it works fine...

This is an easier guide to follow.. if you only have a 2GB SD card, then just be sure you are copying the correct files into the proper place... and you're golden. I have mine on 3.01 and its working really nicely!

much faster boot up time and menu interface... faster response when you touch the screen. I highly recommend updating to 3.0 then 3.01... it makes it a totally different unit! Oh and there are updated maps with this new version too.
