So here's a completely silly story.
My wife and I participated in the fantastic 2nd Annual NSX Prime Canyon Run last weekend, and somehow we wound up winning (actually "stealing") two die cast NSX cars. One is red, one is yellow, and both had black roofs, thus appearing to be 91-94 model cars.
However, upon bringing the cars home, our compulsive teenage son was troubled with the black roof of the red one, because our NSX is a 95 with a factory-red roof. So today without permission, while we were at work, he experimented to "correct the problem."
He somehow found my wife's red nail polish and painted the top of the red car. But when he finished, it looked so bad that he decided to remove his "aftermarket paint job" with nail polish remover (two cents worth of acetone), so we'd never know he had almost ruined our model.
However, acetone not only removed his bad aftermarket paint job, but also removed the underlying black paint to reveal a perfect original factory-painted red top that resists the acetone and matches the body color exactly.
He didn't touch the yellow one, so I don't know for sure if it's also yellow underneath, but I'd guess that it is. BTW, I love the red car now...., and my kid got kudos....
I said it was silly....FYI
