I'm hoping that this week's weather means that another winter is behind us, and we can start getting our cars out again. Spring also means that the annual Exotic Sports Car Show and Concours d’Elegance is just around the corner. As in years past, I am representing the NSX community on the show’s planning committee.

This Concours is held every June to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Colorado, and it is one of their biggest fund raisers. It is also becoming one of the premier car shows in the rocky mountain region. We expect to get about 400 of the most beautiful, historical, exotic, and classic cars from the Denver area, including about a dozen NSXs. You never know what kind of cars will show up. In the past, we’ve had Bugattis, Rolls Royces, Gullwing Mercedes, even an Enzo. Last year, we featured some historic Shelby cars, and this year, we're featuring cars of the Colorado Grand. The show will be on Sunday, June 10th from 9 until 3 at Arapahoe Community College.

In addition to being a fun show, it helps raise money for Cerebral Palsy of Colorado, which helps over 700 special needs children, ages six weeks to five years, right here in the Denver area. In the present economy, sponsorship money is tight, so every car that registers for the show can really help make a difference. It is a great cause and we’d love for you to participate. You can get more information and register your car online at http://www.cpco.org/concours/index.htm - You’ll love the car they used for the icons :-)

For the last couple of years, we've pooled some money to get a tent to sit under, and I'd like to do that again.

The show is always looking for volunteers to help out during the show, especially in the morning to help stage the cars.

This will be a great way to get the NSX community together again and start getting psyched for NSXPO 2012!

Hope to see everyone there,

Steve

I"m going to try to make it. I'll enter my 1991 Red NSX.. Thanks

I wanted to pass on a quick update on the show.

Adele Arakawa has done an ad that will air on Channel 9. Our cars are nicely placed in it :-) you can see the ad at http://gannett.wistia.com/m/gc4ywi

The last day to pre-register is May 23. So far, we've only got 2 cars signed up. Space is allocated based on registrations, so if you haven't signed up yet, please take a moment and check out http://cpco.org/concours so we don't lose our space. I'll also be helping with the site layout the day before, so it would be great if I could get a count of who is planning on joining us.

We are always looking for volunteers. Volunteers get free admission to the show and lunch. If you know anyone interested, here is the link with more details. http://www.cpco.org/concours/volunteer.htm.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the show. We've got some great cars coming this year representing the Colorado Grand, and it will be a great way to get into the spirit for NSXPO!

Cool!
I will be there as always.
Ha! I never heard someone really pronounce the name of the event correctly, or at least in a US sort of way....

Adele pronounced Concours d’Elegance (on the video) as:

Con'-coor Del'-a-gance.

who knew...

Last minute, but I registered today.:tongue:

also last minute, but did it today. let me know what you want for the tent rental....
thanks!

I am going to go next Sunday. Should I bring some $$ to help pitch in for tent use? Or should we make a list of supplies to bring?

I am in as well; will hook up with Steve S around 6:30 and help stage the NSXs.

See you all there, and looking forward to more info on NSXPO '12.

That brings the total to 14 - the most we've ever had :-)

A few of you have asked about helping with the tent. I've never really set a $ amount, people can chip in what they can.

Good supplies to bring include sunscreen, drinks and a cooler to keep them in. They won't allow us to bring in alcohol, so we'll have to keep the drinks soft. Lunch is also nice to bring, though they do sell food at the show.

The grounds open for the cars at 7, and the cars arrive between 7 and 8. We want to make sure everyone is parked by 9 when the gates open to the public so that we aren't trying to move cars around when people are there. At 9:15, the cars from the Colorado Grand will make an entrance with a state patrol escort.

Thank you all for helping us to make this show the success that it is. We raise a lot of money for a great cause, and this is fast becoming the premier car event in the region.

I'm looking forward to seeing familiar faces, and meeting new faces.

See everyone on Sunday!

Steve

Concours show--a big maybe

Hey guys I'll try make it this Sunday. It would be really great to see everyone again.

I'm Ben ( old fart on crutches from a polio bout back in 1953) and I've entered this show, on and off, since 04. Both 94s are gone but I have a 92 white R-type "repro" that I'd like to bring over.

The car is Grand Prix white with matching all white wheels and a black top. I'm going for "R Specs" including the hood and spoiler. It's a "work in progress"; however the paint is excellent and it's all very straight. The upholstery work for it has been scheduled. The seat bolsters are black leather and it will have a bitchin red Alcantara suede for body contact insert portions. Engine bay will have powder coated red accents

There are two major probs right now: The engine is ruff because and it needs work and it also needs a power steering rack rebuild. (That's the little gem that used to cost $7000 at the parts counter). So, it may limp a little, but I'll try to be there on Sunday. No judging -- We'll just open the gas cap. Please, come up and introduce yourself. I have "Half-heimers"...that means I forget 50% of everything that goes on including people I've met at car shows. Enjoy the moment. Ben

Also... I will bring along information about the NSXPO we are hosting
from Sept. 13-18 ... this year in Boulder!

I just got the Web site up... here is a sneak peak:

http://www.nsxca.org/nsxpo2012/

...will let you know when we start accepting registrations....
more announcements soon and often!

cheers,
--bruce

Are they automatically putting all the nsx's together? I couldn't really distinguish reading the paperwork they sent for the show?
Thanks,
Bob

All the NSXes will be together. Unless the layout changed since I last saw it, we'll be in the same place this year that we were in last year. I'll make sure we've got room for 15 cars - the 14 that were registered as of today, plus the one that is registering on arrival. Our biggest turnout yet :-)

See everyone Sunday,

Steve
