It’s that time of year again!

It’s time once again for the annual Exotic Sports Car Show and Concours d’Elegance. I am representing the NSX community on the show’s planning committee again this year.

This Concours is held every June to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Colorado, and it is one of their biggest fund raisers. We expect to get about 400 of the most beautiful, historical, exotic, and classic cars from the Denver area, including about a dozen NSXs. You never know what kind of cars will show up. In the past, we’ve had Bugattis, Rolls Royces, Gullwing Mercedes, even an Enzo. This year, the show is on Sunday, June 13th from 9 until 3 at Arapahoe Community College.

Cerebral Palsy of Colorado helps over 700 special needs children, ages six weeks to five years, right here in the Denver area. In the present economy, sponsorship money is tight, so every car that registers for the show can really help make a difference. It is a great cause and we’d love for you to participate. You can register your car online at http://www.cpco. org/concours/ index.htm - You’ll love the car they used for the icons :-)

We also could use a couple of volunteers to help us stage the cars the morning of the show.

I hope to see all of you from prior shows again, and I look forward to meeting some of the new owners in the Denver area. Last year, we raised money to have a tent next to our cars, and I think that worked out well. We had a shady place to sit, and a table to display various NSX memorabilia. I'd like to do that again, and can coordinate that effort.

In past years, we've gotten together the night before for a dinner at a nearby restaurant. Is anyone interested in trying that this year?

Work on-call schedule and family calendar say I can make it. Assuming no off-radar conflicts I should be there...and will chip in toward sponsor tent for us if I am. I'll see if my daughter if wants to come again. It was surprisingly kid-friendly last year with the tent for shade, vedor selling temporary tattoos, music, free balloons, and a trunk large enough for a pack-and-play for nap time.

Thanks for your work in helping organize this.

Coincidentally...
Seeing "you owe" (almost nothing) in the "state" column when finishing up taxes tonight reminded me of the "Child Care Contribution Credit" qualifying donation from last year. I had totally forgotten about it...but after tracking down the receipt/letter the state now owes me (almost nothing).

I am planning on being there. I will register in the next few weeks. Just like last year, I will be happy to chip in for the tent.

Craig, I was amazed at how good your daughter was the entire day.

I am planning on being there, and will help with the tent. I hope we aren't chased away this year by a tornado, although my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed having Craig and his daughter wait the storm out with us.

This would be my 1st year coming...I put it on my calendar so I should be good!! Ill help with the tent.

Just a friendly reminder for those who want to be a part of this great show, We've extended the early registration deadline through the end of this weekend (5-23). As of tonight, we only have 4 NSXes signed up for the show and I'd love to see more of us there.

Hoping to see you all there,

Steve

After careful consideration, the car show committee has decided to postpone this weekend's show due to concerns about the weather. I'll post again as soon as I know the new date.

The good news is that those who wouldn't have been able to join us because of the weekend drive with the s2k group, may be able to join us on the new date.

Sorry for any inconvenience,

Steve

It looks like we made the right decision to postpone the show - the weather over the weekend was terrible.

At the moment, we're looking at possible dates for the show. The dates we're considering are:

June 26 & 27, 2010
July 10 & 11, 2010
July 17 & 18, 2010
July 24 & 25, 2010
Aug. 7 & 8, 2010
Aug. 28 & 29, 2010
Sept. 18 & 19, 2010

Are any of these dates out of the question for any of you who were wanting to join us at the show?

Just a quick reminder, the car show is this coming sunday, and the weather is supposed to be good all day :-)

We'll have a tent there to keep us from burning, if you can chip in for the cost of the tent that would be great, and it is tax deductible.

I look forward to seeing everyone there and meeting the new NSX owners out there.

Steve
