I just wanted to let all of you know that I have been informed of the NSX tour date. The new NSX will be coming to Acura of Orange Park on November 10 from 6-9pm. All are welcome to come out and take a look at the car, also take photos if wanted. I am not sure if they will be allowing much more than that. I will be there with my 91 and hope to see some of you out there.

Address is:

Acura of Orange Park
7200 Blanding Blvd
Jacksonville Fl 32244

Ok. I have a buddy that works for an Acura dealership in south Florida. He just got word yesterday they would have a private viewing of the car. But they didn't give him anymore info then that?!

Acura just called me to let me know they will be there... and I could put a deposit down. :)

Just wanted to post a THANK YOU to Acura of Orange Park and Daniel in particular for the hospitality offered last night at the NSX tour stop. It was a great event. There were several (a dozen or so) Acura NSX team members in attendance and they all availed themselves to any questions asked. Participants were allowed to sit in both cars, start engines, open compartments, work switchgear etc. There were 7 Gen 1 cars in attendance which was excellent considering the event wasn't really advertised.

For those of you who not seen the new car, what others have stated is correct--it does look better in person than in any photos. The proportions of the car are very good. It is wider, lower and shorter than what most photographs portray. Yes, there are still some attributes that I do not particularly like, all of which have already been mentioned at length on these forums and there is still no official release date for the US yet. The software engineer says they are still tweaking the electronics and there are still minor fit and finish issues being worked out but basically the final production model will not differ in appearance, i.e. same beak, keyhole in drivers door remains etc.

+1 on Steve's notes on it being way better in person. Quite impressed although feels bigger and heavier than a 1st gen. Exhaust sounds very muted, like the muffler is surrounded by packing material. The engineers were very cool and laid back, no attitude or anything which was so nice to see, really seemed to be attached to the cars they brought. Chassis numbers were 001 and 002. Blue 000 never showed for some reason.

Highlight for me though were all the test wires and harnesses, especially on the black car, all attached with duct tape. I will try and post pics but need to check with Daniel(BUGS2K) if OK to do so. He was part of a photo shoot the next morning - get him to post some pics!

Edit: adding some new stuff, mostly showing the duct tape and test rigs. Leaving the fancy photos to Daniel!

You're very welcome! I'm happy that most were able to make it out. Sorry it took a little longer for them to get there than planned but I believe the wait was worth it! Good seeing everyone. We should all get together more often!

It was an awesome event! The next morning when I arrived to work I helped them get the cars out of the showroom. I was then able to get some photos with the cars. Their pr photographer from Honda was there and took a ton of photos of the cars from every angle and lights on, off and so on. He said he would email me some once done editing! Can't wait! Here are some of the photos I took with my phone.
