Honda is not forsaking hardcore enthusiasts, and it appears that a successor to the Acura NSX could arrive sometime around 2015. A fresh generation of the car was canceled in 2008 during a round of belt tightening as Honda grappled with the worldwide financial crisis. But things seem to be looking up once again, and Honda President Takanobu Ito has confirmed that the NSX will arrive in the middle of the decade. The supercar is expected to be powered by a mid-mounted V6 engine developing upward of 400 hp. Look for a hybrid system capable of boosting power by as much as 100 hp, delivering top-shelf performance with reasonable fuel economy.
