2006 Grand Week in Indy - Car Club Cruises

Hello Indy NSXers,

Last year I attended one of these car club cruises in downtown Indianapolis with my P-car and had a blast. This year I will be attending the Saturday July 1st 7:30 p.m. event, in the Collector Cars-Open Category, with my 91 NSX. Below is the link for registration and details. Hopefully a few of you guys can make it.

Car Club Cruises

Car Club Cruises will take place during the Grand Prix Week on Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1. The Car Clubs are lead by motorcycle police that lead the cruise throughout downtown Indianapolis. Please click Register Now! at the top of the page to sign up only under your car club name.

Car Cruises are tentatively scheduled to marshal in the Indianapolis Zoo Parking Lot beginning 20 minutes prior to the scheduled cruise time. Cruises last approximately 20 minutes.

If you car club does not have an arranged time on the attached schedule please have your car club leadership contact Michelle Fahey at [email protected] or sign up under one of the open schedule positions.

Saturday, July 1
4:30 p.m. Mini Cooper
5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Porsche

How many NSX's are in the Indy area now anyway?? We just had a 3 NSX cruise today but we are starting to run short of people to gather. Who else is around here??

Hey Tim...I called Mitch to see if he was up for a cruize, and then he called Dan.

We need to schedule a southern Indiana drive soon.

So whats the deal with the cruise? Just kind of a parade lap through downtown? My car is kind of a mutt so I guess I would have to be in the open category. If I can get my exhaust fabricated by then I might be interested. Its kind of loud now on open headers

It is a parade lap that winds all through downtown. It begins at the zoo and ends at the zoo. It is about a 20 minute ride with Indianapolis motorcycle police as escorts to block traffic. In the open category I think you can drive anything you want. When I did this event the other year there was a Viper, Lotus Esprit v8, 350Z, a couple of Porsches, a couple Minis, and an old t bird, as well as others that I don't remember. This year I will be in the NSX and one of my friends just bought an s2k that will be there. Last time around he was the 350Z and I had an old Porsche and we had a geat time.
