Actually Honda celebrated their 50th in 1999. The s2000 was Honda's 50th anniversary present to its fans. The S2000 was also the first car in its class to earn a Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) rating.The S2000 concept version, the SSM, was shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1996. The S2000 in production version was launched onto the market in 1999."
